The ultimate urge of the human beings is to know why we
exist, where did we come from, who created us. We are always caught in a
dilemma between the modern science and the religious preachings. This is my
attempt as a layman. I am using two characters here to deal with the questions
we are faced every day and try answering them with common sense and common man’s
logic. Read it for fun and it is a bonus if you find any sense in it. I would
like to publish this in 3 articles. This is the first one.
Here a soul after leaving the body, encounters god and starts
the conversation.
After hearing God’s voice ………….
Soul:
So, Soul is real and God is real which means this entire set up of heaven also
should be real?
God:
Life is real, and permanent. It is just that you guys prefer to call it as soul
after you are done with the physical body.
Soul:
Did not understand, God? By the way should I call you just God, or you have a name
or something?
God:
You can call me with any name you want? Naming is a discovery by human beings
for your comfort because there are so many around you, you want to make a just
distinction. I am the only one of kind that exists as far as I know and
moreover you are talking to me there is no one around here so obviously I know
that whatever you are asking you are asking me . So don’t invest your energy in
knowing what should you be calling me, you should focus more on asking what you
want to know.
Soul:
I don’t get this at all, you are the one who created this universe so logically
you should know whatever I want to ask without me asking you? Why don’t you
just give me all answers for my doubts straight away rather taking a prolonged
way of asking and answering?
God: Expected!
Now I want you to know the difference between my ability to be able to understand
what you think and whether I am interested in reading your mind and knowing it?
I am not interested in doing that but I appreciate the fact that you are aware
of my ability?
Soul: Why?
Why?
God:
what was your profession?
Soul:
Well in am in to IT rather I was in to IT, I worked with computers and software.
God: OK,
now you must be knowing how computer works? Every time you are working on it
you don’t try to figure out how it is receiving you commands and processing them
rather you will be focusing on the task you need to accomplish right?
Soul:
Yes ..
God:
But you are absolutely capable of knowing how it works in way you can figure
out what computer is thinking, but you will not invest your time in that.
Soul: I
understood, I guess. I agree to the arrangement of asking questions.
God: Great,
I am not finished answering your question, there is an important part left. You
mentioned something like I (God, in your sense) created this universe, but I would
like to correct you on that, I did not create this universe.
Soul:
wohhh, wow , I wish I am alive to tell
this to all my folks who thinks god created this whole world, but I am here
where God himself says he is not god , confesses
that he is not responsible for creation. This is quite an event ……..
{God interrupted the soul very firmly and said}
God: Wait...
wait.... I want to know who is god for you? before even we talk about creation and
who is responsible for this. Human race created a lot of gods themselves. Every
time a person defied the temptations of human life and raised above millions of
you ethically, you called them god, like Rama and Buddha. If you think I am one
of them, I am not. I never had a physical existence for myself.
Soul:
fair enough, so you are not the God and you did not create this universe but could
you help me understand who created this universe and who created you? What is
the purpose of your existence?
God: You
asked a lot of questions, let me answer them in reverse order. First ....about who
created me – the one who created human race created me too? I am always connected
to my creator, he too does not have a physical body. And about the purpose of my
existence, well it is for me to figure out why I exist it is none of your
business and it is not going to help you any way.
Soul:
God is rude! …… I am asking these questions for academic purpose just to feed
my curiosity, I hope you appreciate my zeal to learn.
God
:
Well, I am not rude to you, just that I don’t have to please you , you were
surrounded by people who had a reason to please you ,now that you are talking
to someone who has no reason to please
you and just setting up the premise for the discussion very objectively it
sounds rude to you . You asked good questions, without any further probing
there I would like to answer how this creation works. Let me ask few questions,
if that is ok with you?
Soul: Sure,sure,
Please
God:
You had kids?
Soul:
Yes, yes 3 of them. I am proud of them. They all doing well in their lives.
God: Ok,
now let me ask one more question, who created them?
Soul: It
is no brainer, God created them too, the one who created me also created them.
God: You
see, they came from you, your children are an extension of your body and soul, but
they have their own existence – so logically you created them right? If we go with
the same logic your parents are your creators, and their parents for them
right? It goes back to generations beyond your ability to think. In the same
way the human race comes from me, you share my abilities just that my ability
is beyond your logic, calculation and imagination. The one who created me also was
created by someone and this is an endless loop everyone is created by someone. By
trying to know who is the reason and focal point of this creation you will only
waste time and energy, you will never be able to reach to the starting point.
So it is better for both of us to invest time about you and me.
Soul:
Yes, sure. I get that. Now see, you are a supernatural power, you can literally
do anything. In human sense you can speak millions of languages, you can perform
millions of tasks parallel? How is this possible? What do you have that we don’t
have?
God: Reasonable
question, now I ask you to do a comparison – taker any animal and compare human
beings. If they have to look at you and think - you are like a supernatural
power to animals. You speak languages and multiple of them, you are also
capable of parallel processing and multi tasking. You think about work while you
eat, you work while you chat, you dream while you are asleep and you smile at a
person while you want to kill them inside. A tiger must be thinking human
capabilities are impossible to have and humans must be the creators .Animals does
not have the power you have, I have abilities that you don’t have. It is all
about the degree of variation between abilities it is not impossible to have.
Soul: Impressive!
Soul, paused, thinking that he will respond to me with
thank you, quick enough to realize it is not going to happen. Continues with
questions.
Soul: Let
me ask a question straight, are you proud of us? You children, the human race?
God: Why?
Soul did not expect this plain blank why. Got irritated
by this response.
Soul:
Why? Why? Come on, We progressed so much, we have invented things beyond what could we even
think few centuries back. We literally made the world look what it is, we made
this a place to live better.
The soul felt lost for few minutes, dizzy. Could not
think and could not hear anyone. Thought it is dyeing again. Took few minutes to
gain the strength back. Could not feel the earlier presence of God and suddenly
started hearing the same sound waves it is hearing for some time now, it is god.
Soul: What
just happened? I am lost for some time? Thought you are angry with me.
God:
No,
no … you tried processing so many thoughts than you are capable of, your system took some time to get rid of
that state and regain stability. Let me tell you, you never progressed beyond a
point, more sadly human regressed more every time I thought you were very close
to a break through.
Soul:
What
do you mean? We are went to moon. We predict future more accurately than before,
what else you expect?
God:
First
of all, you did not achieve anything that your previous generation did not. Can
you name any ancient knowledge base that is available to you?
Soul: Yes,
they say it is the “Vedas” and they dated back to few centuries ago.
God: You
see, Humans achieved this ages ago, it gets repeated all the time, just in
every age they think it is the first time they achieved it. From the time you
are born the moment you look up, you see sky, stars which amuses you every day. Do
you think it takes more than hundred years to figure out what you see every day
and night? So human race is trying to achieve what it achieved already, you are
caught in a circle. Your ego does not allow you to accept the fact that you are attempting to
be there where your fore fathers were at some point of time.
Soul:
God! I feel like an insect now. Why is it so complex?
God:
Insects
are not any inferior to you, don’t use them in that sense. What you do mean by “Complex”?
Soul: This chaos existed when we came from you? This
violence, fight, hatred. Why don’t you bring order and peace?
God: you have started thinking in right direction,
let us set the agenda for this conversation.
Soul:
Sure I want to know about Violence, and suffering. You are the creator and you can
control this, but you are not doing it, it is like play I guess and I think you
draw pleasure out of human tragedy. You are a sadist.
